Columbus Hotel is housed in Palazzo della Rovere, a splendid 15th century building, inside which the very latest comforts have been installed in an harmonious manner.
Location
Situated near Rome historical centre, the Columbus Hotel is placed close to the Vatican City and the Tevere River.
Rooms
The hotel has 92 rooms that are comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated and reflect the opulence and style of an ancient medieval palace. Some rooms overlook the inside garden of Palazzo della Rovere and some rooms overlook the main street via della Conciliazione.
Restaurant
La Veranda is the excellent restaurant of the Hotel, it proposes fabulous wines of the highest standard and the very best Italian and International cuisine which may be savoured in the Pinturicchio frescoes interior or outside in the elegance of the garden.
General
The building was frescoed by Pinturicchio and was so sumptuous and beautiful that in June 1495 Charles VII of France preferred to lodge there rather than at the Vatican. The magnificent halls, fireplaces and frescoes on the walls and on the vaults are still all splendidly preserved in the Hotel.
